About the Workshop
Watercolour
Make It Easy on Yourself
“Teach a child to fish or give a child a fish”.

Very often we see workshops where students are shown how to paint a picture from a reference.

This is a good start until you begin a new painting when the tutor is not present!

Then it becomes more challenging!

Book into either a one day or two day workshop. You will be creating different moods each day and focus your work on using the same reference for both days.

Day One
Sunny and warm

Day Two
Cold and wet

If you are doing one day only, then you are either doing a “Sunny and Warm” on day one or “Cold and Wet on day two.

Therefore, this course will take a couple of steps further. Firstly, students will be shown how to do a wash and study the characteristics and magic of the medium. In the process, will also introduce the fundamental design elements and design principles in order to achieve a higher rate of success.
Students will learn how to create a successful watercolour painting.

Artist's Note
Whilst it is important for me to help students achieve a good result, it is more important to me that I encourage students to actively pursue happiness and fulfilment through art. I am committed to transfer my own practice and experience to filter through to my class. It is an exhilarating feeling when I help someone to hit that eureka moment. The look on their face is priceless.
