Join Melinda in an all day workshop, where you will be supplied with a complete kit and design of one of Melinda’s embroideries of a butterfly based on one of her oil paintings.

 

Having been self-taught at embroidery, this workshop won’t have any fancy jargon or elaborate stitches. You will however be guided through the design itself, to stretching fabric onto a hoop, how to keep your fabric tight, transferring the image onto fabric, creating an outline and how to fill it in include how to shade and create tone with stitches.

 

You won’t be expected to finish your project and if you don’t, you will be supplied with enough thread to accomplish it at your leisure. Either way, you will end up with a ready to hang lovely piece to be proud of, whilst meeting other embroidery enthusiasts in a relaxing atmosphere.

 

This is an all day workshop, so it’s advisable to bring your lunch and any other refreshments you require. All materials will be supplied, this includes: Butterfly design Hoop Fabric Thread Needles Scissors Pencil Transparent paper This workshop is aimed at beginners or those wanting to learn more about colour, shading and achieving detail. It will only be using simple long and short running stitch.

There are several options in walking distance. Please note there is no fridge onsite.

Tea and instant coffee making facilities will be available at the venue.

There is plenty of free parking all over Buninyong within walking distance to all venues.
